Until recently, urushi did not adhere well to glass but with recent research, the invention of glass urushi has been developed. Using this new urushi, I have created a range of glass jewellery which mixes the traditional crafts of maki-e and the gold leaf making of Kananzawa with an innovative design. Using traditional Japanese patterns, each piece is hand crafted and each pattern has its own fortuitous meaning bring the wearer good luck !
