A handmade sake cup using locally grown zelkova wood, turned on a lathe by a third generation craftsman. After the Wajima-nuri process is finished, the decorating with coloured urushi and gold maki-e begins. . After the design is applies, it is over with several coats of high quality urushi, it is then sanded though until the design appears and polished by applying more thin coats of urushi until it shines a mirror.
