“Life force”
This two layered stacking box was selected for the Ishikawa Traditional Crafts exhibition and uses the Wajima-nuri process of lacquering. It is decorated with a variety of techniques including shell inlay, quail’s egg shell inlay and gold maki-e. The top ribbon was made by using washi to create a textured world of growing leaves also with shell inlay and gold and silver maki-e.
